In euchre card game the disclosure of the trump also means calling, making. The players declare to win more number of tricks in a hand. A point is been scored if the bid is successful similarly two points can be obtained if the players win all of the five tricks by declaring their trump. If the partnership that is making the call fails to win three tricks then this position of the game is said to be as euchred or bumped. At this point in euchre game the calling partnership is being punished by giving two extra points to another team. If a single player has got good cards he or she can play the game alone and can win all the five tricks without a partner. In this card game the person playing alone don't need to include his second partner in the play.

The basic rule in playing euchre card game is that the player is not suppose to trump, he just needs to play according to the suits. The team scoring 10 points first wins the euchre card game, in some cases the winning score may be 11, 15 or may be less than these. Usually tally sheets are used to maintain the scores. This reduces the chances of cheating also. Many players play euchre game by involving betting also. Betting is done on a trick basis, certain amount is been prefixed on winning a trick. If a team beats another team with this score 10-0, then it is said as skunking.
